Manchester United, Liverpool prepare for Title Decider

The game between Manchester United and Liverpool tomorrow is being dubbed by many as the Premier League decider. Manchester United are on the top of the table right now with a 7 point lead over Liverpool with a game in hand. If United win the game, they will go 10 points clear of Liverpool and then things might be over for Liverpool. Both teams have been pretty confident lately after there Champions League triumph with Liverpool thrashing Real Madrid and Manchester United getting past Inter Milan. Wayne Rooney has even heated up the clash by saying that being an Everton fan, he grew up ‘hating’ Liverpool and that continues till date.

There are no injury worries for both the teams ahead of the match. One of the biggest threat to Manchester United will be Steven Gerrard and Torres. Both are key to Liverpool’s ambitions and they were top class against Real Madrid. Jamie Carragher also demonstrated there defensive abilities by restricting Real Madrid. United have also got a lot of talent in Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov. However, i feel that Tevez should start the match. Even though he has not been first choice this season, still his work rate is terrific and he always gives his best. He was superb against Fulham in FA cup and deserves a chance in this game after not starting against Inter Milan. There defence has been superb recently thanks to Vidic and they have a superb keeper in Van Der Sar. However they were a bit poor against Inter Milan and they need to be at there best to match an inform Liverpool team.

One of the advantages that Manchester United have is that it is not a must win situation for them. Even if they lose, it will not hurt there chances much as they will be on top of the league. This might reduce the pressure on them a bit but the fans will still be expecting a high level of performance in a match of high intensity. Liverpool on the hand need to win to stay in the hunt. They havent won a title since 19 years and this year was there best chance after a long time. Still, the game will be a cracker. Looking forward to it. As a Manchester United fan, i am counting on them to win.
